The 63rd Yellowstone Boat Float
The 63rd Yellowstone Boat Float
The Yellowstone Boat Float is a vibrant celebration of nature and community that began as a spirited protest in 1963 against a proposed dam on the beautiful Yellowstone River. Initiated by Billings, MT mayor Willard E. Fraser, this splashy adventure kicked off on July 12th, 1963, taking him from Livingston to Billings in a three-day journey of defiance and fun! Originally dubbed the Mayor’s River Float Trip, this beloved tradition has evolved into a yearly festivity, attracting river enthusiasts from far and wide. Join us this year from July 10th to July 12th as we float from Livingston, MT to Columbus, MT, celebrating the river’s wild spirit and our commitment to protecting it!
